Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge

Also known as the Pamban bridge, the Annai Indira Gandhi Road bridge is about 2.34 km long and is built close to the rail bridge. The road bridge allows smooth passage of ships under it. It also has mythological importance because it is known as the place where Lord Rama struck an arrow to the ground to quench Goddess Sita’s thirst. The location is a high-velocity cyclone-prone zone and is surrounded by serene blue waters.
